ep 21: Goodbye Girl

ok so the a's are 10 days away. but guess who finished the oc season 1 in like *counting* 5 days? now all i have to do is wait for my bro to borrow season 2 from this anoynomous female classmate of his whom i was gratefully indebted to. well it's not like i've not watched season 1 when it premiered on tv in 2003(?) but my memory just needed some refreshing. seriously though, if you've not caught the oc, you should cos' it's a really 'engaging' series, which is like into its 4th season already (although it seems like the show is getting crummier by the seasons). anyway there is this adorable witty cute chic in this show whom im a fan of. her name is samaire armstrong, formerly known as anna stern in the oc.

Did you know?
- she is from Tokyo, Japan
- that she is trained in martial arts since a 5 year old
- she has her own clothing brand called NARU
- in high school, she made her own clothes
- she was in daniel powter's 'bad day' MV
- in the oc, she's an avid graphic novel fan

sadly, like all good things, they have to come to an end. her stint on the oc only lasted a few episodes as a guest role, though i really wished she had stayed on as a permanent fixture. she's basically this chic from pittsburgh who has the hots for this seth cohen guy, who similarly has the hots for this other girl summer roberts. anna and seth did hook up midway through the show, though it never did last. citing her reasons for breaking up as apparent lack of chemistry, it seemed that having too many things in common is not welcomed. so do opposites really attract? i guess i'll never know.

watched deathnote with chao yw yh at vivocity on fri. coincidentally i met up with chao yh at the outram park station and even more of a coincidence, we bumped into yw on the train itself. talk about fate. so vivocity is just like another suntec city, just that it isnt in town and is a stone's throw away from sentosa. the place was so humongously large that we lost our way trying to find the cinema. though we were spending most of our time at the pathetic E-zone on the roof, i think the roof is actually the most redeeming quality of the entire place. although it was still pretty hazy at that evening, i particularly liked the scenery. as aptly as yw would put it, 'this is definitely a good place to pa tuo'. how was deathnote? relative to the manga i'd have to say that it was disappointing. Light was simply not eeeevvvvvvil enough, and him acting like a loving boyfriend was cramping his style. i mean the Light/Kira i know is hardcore scary, not wimpy and flacid like the one portrayed in the movie. the movie didnt even start out right, so many loose ends which deserved to be questioned. but there's only so much you can squeeze into a 2hr flick, any longer and it'll simply be draggy. honestly, misa was probably the only most accurately portrayed character out of everyone else. ok so maybe L tied with misa, but i cant wait to see more of her in the 2nd movie. then again by the time the movie is out i'll probably not get a chance to watch it. rumoured to open on the 28th dec...
