eventful night full of memories

Happy B'day Darryl Koe! tks for inviting me man, sorry if i didnt give ya anything, i'll try to make up for it.

it was suppose to be a pot luck dinner/party/bday, so i had to go and get some food somehow. decided to try pp, where i was scavenging the entire basement for some cake that could feed a possible 10 or so. i swear, this is probably the most taxing and mentally/physically-demanding thing i've done in my holidays.

i have become dull.

eventually i got some marble and black berry cake from giant for $8.30. not bad la, it was cheap and looked good. hopefully it will taste good too i thought. met up with chao before we headed for bayshore park. haha, i had called louis to ask which unit darryl lived in, and i was sure i heard 1608. so when we went to the entrance of his block, and press 1608 at the intercom, we had a real awkward conversation with a stranger. it was suppose to be 1508 instead. oops, my bad chao.

ivan and louis was busy make salad and cooking some stuff, while the rest of us chilled at the tv. so long never see everyone liao, since all went to a different school. i cant believe that i can be so suay that all the people i am close to ended in another sch other than MJC. so regretful la honestly. there were some ppl i wished i had continued studying with under the same roof, but enough about tt. eventually the pot luck started at 8.30 when louis and co. were finally done with the spaghetti.

it was every man for himself. it was a successful pot luck i must say, there seemed to be enough food for everyone. past experiences have left me the impression that there'll never be enough food for you, and you'll be paying more than u will be eating. darryl had this box of utensils la, but the thing was tt it had tons of spoons, but only 5 forks. and the main dish was noodles lor, no rice at all. ended up sharing forks and desperately attempting to eat the spaghetti with the spoon. some went to bball with the residents after that, while i stayed back to finish up my cake with a few others. lucky seh, thought i'd end up eating it all by myself, but the marble cake was only popular when i was seen eating it.

after tt, we walked on to check out the bball match. my fren said that one of them was a girl, but aiya, in the end it was a guy with long hair only. damn funny la, i was laughing more than clapping. but hell the opponents (who were either koreans or japs) were owning us la, shooting like nobody's business like tt. nevertheless, it was for fun la.

finally it was time to eat cake! sang bday song in as many languages as we knew, and wohoo, it was chaos from then on. everyone was smashing the choc cake into one another's faces. it blew up into a freakin hunt for ivan who in the end was grappled by clarence for the finisher move :cake-in-face. it was hilarious lor, imagine a bunch of 17-year-olds chasing each other half naked with cake in one hand. finally we settled down while some went to ping-pong.

6 of us: me, louis, chao, jeremy, darryl, yw began chatting about stuff that was worth us conversing abt. it was around 12am then. i think this was the most interesting part of the day la. cos' personally, i just like to chill out with my sec sch frens and we seriously chat abt anything and all that had happened in sec sch. it soon evovled into a truth-and-truth game. deren joined us later on after his ping-pong madness. it got even more intriguing with him and with the 7 of us left by the pool and no one else in sight, we got started with our truth-and-truth game. it wasnt exactly a game la, just a chance to know more abt one another than we never knew, to catch up on old times and relive the memories. laughs were a plenty. but such moments come by rarely. i personally feel that i'm closest to my sec1&2 classmates, cos' we really went through alot then la. till today, although we've gone to different schools, we're still behaving like we know one another very well, there isnt that typical awkward silence that u have with someone whom you're no longer in contact with due to a different choice you had made after the O's. we truly opened up, confessing anything we had, and it was really awesome. we ended up chatting till 4am, when everyone was giving a share of their ghostly encounters. it freakin scary honestly. when you're the only ppl by the pool, and it 4am or so, with crickets hanging around, the mood is terrifying.

so here i am now, blogging abt it all after i caught a bus in the early morning back home. have not bathe nor slpt, but i thought i'd post it all up while it's still fresh in my mind.

tks guys, i'll miss times like these. we might not get such a chance again, due to our individual obligations, but hey, i've never regretted knowing u all. take care 2.4.

Early to rise makes me feel so wise

i've been getting out of bed very much earlier than usual for the past few days of the week. my biological clock had naturally been set to alarm me from my deep slumber at 10 or so. but for this week of december, 7.30 is like the new 10. while deliberating over this intriguing phenomenon (my brain has been dulled after 2 months of holiday), i've arised to three possible conclusions that explains my unholy awakening at this awkward hour.

conlusion 1:
it so happens that this is the lat week of the holidays. if it is not enough that i've not completed my holiday assignments given the period of time to do so, there are tests to welcome us back into the new year. now maybe, just maybe, my inner subconscious is raged with anxiety, despite my calm exterior. hence, the clash in emotions has led to a breakdown of my bio clock.

conclusion 2:
after almost 7 wks of vigorous playing, slacking, idling, lazing, sleeping, eating, wasting, i've have grown to be accustomed to this habit of living. despite it being the first day of school next week, i've held homework and tests in no regard despite they deserving much of it. as a result, i've awoken from my deep slumber earlier only to give myself more precious hours to idle away.

conclusion 3:
i've been sleeping real early everyday at 11.

honestly speaking, i've no faith in myself in adjusting to the new lifestyle from next week onwards. not that i have choice not to though. what is with this obligation to rise from bed at 6 daily, only to suffer for the coming 12 hours or so. omg, so i've been out for almost 12 hrs every sch day. that will explain my inclination to stay cooped up at home during the holidays.

ar, what the heck. i've got a party to attend later on, so i'll give a shit about all this tml.

or maybe not.

1 wk more?

so it's finally christmas eve.

wasnt entirely looking forward to christmas this year, cos that would mean j2 is abt to start in abt a wk. not very encouraging. as of now, i've found my phy assignment which i'm suppose to complete in 2wks. my chem hwk is still hidden somewhere. makes me wonder if i had intentionally hid it such that i'll never need to bother myself with it. hopefully.

fmaths. i've absolutely lost all my foundation, cant even rmb what i have forgotten. shit, even my english isnt making any sense now.

to top it all off, we have tests to welcome us to school. i'm trying my best to bask in the pleasures of fun till i get sick of it, bored of it and somehow or rather like sch.

impossible.

ubin ubin ubin

First, I was enthusiastic abt blogging when I got home. Sadly, some technical malfunction occurred which resulted in an auto-restart.

Next, when I’ve finally learnt my lesson, I was intent on saving a draft. Ar, but the gods weren’t on my side or any damn side near me. A blardy error occurred and I lost all once again.

Hence, I’ve learnt the lesson between lessons today.

IE can just fuck off and die and eat shit for all I freaking care cos’ mozilla firefox is like a billion times freakin’ better and IE which I had blindly trusted for years can rot in hell, for I am not caring a damn shit anymore abt it.

My (blogging) morale is at an all time low after my relentless attempts to blog abt ubin ubin ubin and all the fun fun fun I had today. Now I look like a retard blogging, though technically speaking it looks like I’m typing an essay on my Microsoft word. Fook IE.

met at tp mac early morning. since we were at mac, jvn and i had breakfast there. ji had planned to meet at bdk jetty at 11, which most of us found a tad too late. hence, we pushed forward the meeting time by 1/2 hour, which i must say made a difference later on. mex arrived last w/o attempting his long-sleeve stint like before at the bbq. the boat ride was my first to ubin, which was a first for me too. finally we've set foot on ubin. though technically speaking our feet werent on the ground most of the time cos' of all the cycling. We head off first to the beach, as we heartedly assumed that the quarry was just a big hole filled with ghost stories to fill up the gap. I had the privilege to notice everyone’s cycling behaviours and styles, esp wing tai. He was dragging his bike across the concrete pavement while most of us let the wheels do the talking. Weird, yes, I’d agree. Had our first grp pic, with some poles sticking our of the water as the background(which I was naively thought was those used to catch fish like that in the story of bukit timah hill). I was as wrong as I was not right. At a pit stop on some bridge, jvn attempted to shoot a crab (with my camera). We were discussing abt the possibility of the cubicle supported by poles in the water to be a toilet. We’ve finally came to a conclusion that the only possible way to find out was to check for…let’s just say, it had something to do with ‘droppings’. Also, we finally find a cold drinks stall which was actually operating, despite cycling by so many cold drinks stalls which wasn’t attended to by anyone. It was refreshing honestly speaking, just chillin’ out with your friends and sipping down on an ice-cold drink (lemon-tea in my case). We were contemplating at one point if we should cycle to some ‘german girls shrine’, but jvn decided otherwise. It was a rocky path towards to the fenced-off quarry, with puddles and mud and rocks and slopes and weird paths to take. But at the quarry which wasn’t exactly fenced-off properly, we admired the not-so-admirable scene, where the water was oddly green. But picture-worthy still as such opportunities to visit ubin were rare.

We cycled much of the possible cycling routes, and lunch was next on our agenda. Ordering looked taxing, with jvn taking the reins and sorting our interests in order. Fried rice was fine by me, and expectedly it was enough for like 5 plates. Taking the reins once again, jvn got the others rice and omelet. Dave got some rice which he thought was necessary nourishment. It looked like 5 bowls of rice on a plate, though technically it was still a plate of rice. Shuantze took what he though was necessary servings, which differed from my definition of servings. Waiting for the bill took as long as collecting money, which seemed fit of a duty which jvn was obliged to fulfill. Reluctant to leave the island too soon despite impending rain/storm/downpour, we took another bicycle route to another beach. The scenery deserved the multiple clicks of my camera, and so did jvn self-proclaiming he deserved to be shot at. Literally speaking, I wouldn’t mind (joking). With me naturally, and somehow, becoming his personal camerman of the day due to my personal relations with the photography club, he posed like the island was one of his many other possessions. Haha, candid shot of the day. Now, the impending rain which looked more imminent than before caught our attention and gave us the hint to head for the jetty once again.

The day ended with many jokes that were as cold as the weather (it was pouring, if I must add). Still, another successful s101 outing. It was fun definitely, though the last of few that have been organized. It took some time to hit me and realize that many ppl are leaving s101 nxt year, leaving behind many serious ppl. All the fun ones are off to different classes. No more incessant teasing from jvn. No more weird quirks from kian lim. Left w/o someone to comfort other than myself during PE. Yea, reality only hits u in the face when u think back on all fun you never treasured and take for granted. Feels like sec4 somehow.

p.s: jvn, if u’re wondering where your newpaper is, it’s with me. Somehow.

Life is so short, questionable and evanescent that it is not worth the trouble of major effort.

Singapore Hour

my mom never fails to catch an episode of japan hour every sunday at 1. lately i've been thinking, japan hour seems to be running as long as a soap opera, seasons and seasons now. w/o doubt, that's most likely because of the obvious fact that japan has a diverse culture backed up by a landscape that bewilders many, and makes fanatics out of the others.

before i digress further to how anime and manga has captured my attention and influenced the essence of my life and its piggybank, i was thinking how there's never been a Singapore Hour too.

then it occured to me.

Singapore Hour won't even last a season.
